Payment Options
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. In order to focus on our clients’ needs, customer service and minimize costs, we don’t bill clients or offer any payment plans through our hospital.
We accept debit cards, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), and cash. All credit card transactions must be signed in person by the owner of the card upon transaction.
We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances occur. For this reason, BlueStar Pet Hospital accepts payments through CareCredit. CareCredit is a credit card accepted by most healthcare practices from a third party (just like any other credit card). Applications can be found at the hospital or online at: www.CareCredit.com. CareCredit application approval/denial is provided to the applicant instantly and, if approved, the CareCredit card may be used immediately for payment. Payment terms and conditions apply. Please see the CareCredit terms and conditions when applying.
Highlights of the CareCredit program:
- Low Monthly Payments (3% of the total balance)
- Interest-Free For 6 Months
- Determine Approval in a Few Minutes
- No Annual Fee
Pet Insurance
Another popular option for your family and pet is pet insurance coverage. There are many pet insurance companies that provide many different plans and payment options, just like in human insurance. Bluestar Animal Hospital does not provide pet insurance or recommend any specific insurance. However, a simple google search will bring up many pet insurance options for you and your pet.
We encourage reviewing multiple policies and selecting the best policy that fits you, your pet, and your finances. Some well-known pet insurance companies are:
- Trupanion
- Progressive
- Nationwide
- ASPCA
Prescription Policy
Need a medication refill? No problem! Give our office a call or text message to let us know, and we will gladly refill any medications your pet needs. Please understand that all prescription refills require veterinarian approval, and therefore depending on the medication, can take time to approve.
We ask that you call or text us 24 hours in advance for any medication refill requests. Some medications may need bloodwork or a recheck examination to ensure your pet’s safety for long-term use. Most often, refills can be approved on the same day. However, this is not always the case, and that is why we ask for at least a 24-hour advance notice.
Please note that any prescription medication requires a current doctor-client relationship, meaning our veterinarian must have performed a physical examination on your pet in the last six months to one year, depending on the medication being prescribed. We cannot legally provide any prescription medication to a pet that has not been examined by one of our veterinarians.
Please note that due to an increase in online prescription requests, there will be a $5 service fee added to all outside prescriptions approved. This is to cover the cost of staff time in communicating with pharmacies and veterinary time to ensure that the third-party pharmacy’s prescription is accurate to ensure your pet’s safety.
