Dr. Venkat Reddy Gutta, grew up in India and moved to the United States in the year 2002 for higher education. After completing the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE), he attended Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Veterinary Medicine for his clinical rotations. Dr. Gutta also earned his Master’s degree in Animal Science from Georgia. After finishing his clinical rotations from LSU Vet School, he obtained his Florida state license to practice veterinary medicine.
Dr. Gutta practiced as an associate veterinarian for Banfield Pet Hospital for more than 10 years. He gained a reputation for being very personable and taking the time to educate clients on their pet’s health. As an associate veterinarian at this practice, he has gained experience with many soft tissue surgeries while continuing to practice high-quality veterinary medicine.
Dr. Gutta joined Bluestar Pet Hospital in March, 2016 after his wife Dr. Sri decided to work part time to raise their three kids. His professional interests include wellness exams, preventive care, senior pet care, and nutrition counseling for both dogs and cats, with particular interests in canine and feline medicine, endocrine cases, skin cases, nutrition, and behavior.
In his free time, Dr. Gutta enjoys spending time with his family and his own pets. He especially enjoys outdoor activities such as gardening, swimming and playing tennis. Dr. Gutta is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society (JVMS).
